Tall order’ as Kayange eyes World Cup Sevens

Former sevens captain, Humphrey Kayange is in the frame for a second Rugby World Cup Sevens campaign after he was listed among the provisional squad of 16 announced on Thursday.
SQUAD
1. Andrew Amonde (KCB), 2. William Ambaka (Quins), 3. Davis Chenge (Western Bulls), 4. Eden Adero (Quins), 5. Patrice Agunda (Quins), 6. Horace Otieno (Mwamba), 7. Philip Wamae (KCB), 8. Biko Adema (Nondies), 9. Lavin Asego (Mwamba), 10. Felix Ayange (Quins), 11. Michael Wanjala (Strathmore Leos), 12. Robert Aringo (Impala), 13. Collins Injera (Mwamba), 14. Oscar Ouma (Nakuru), 15. Dennis Ombachi (Mwamba), 16. Humphrey Kayange (Bristol University)

Head coach Mike Friday who left for England last Saturday included the player who led Kenya to a semi final appearance in Dubai four years ago to bolster the experience in the side that is heading to Russia as a rank favourite for the crown.
The squad will be captained by Andrew Amonde who led the team to fifth in the 2012/13 IRB World Sevens Series and will depart from Nairobi on June 15 for a ten-day closed camp in London before they leave for Moscow on June 25.

Speaking after rolling out the squad, assistant coach, Felix Ochieng, extolled the value of having the most capped player back in the squad after he missed most of the regular season due to sturdy commitments at Bristol University in the UK.
“All along through the years, Humphrey has been a quality player. His understanding of the game is at a different level as seen in London.
“It’s been unfortunate we’ve not have had him here for the same conditioning programme but he was on a remote programme in the UK. But having him back here full time gives us an added advantage, that experience and that leadership he provides when he steps into the field,” assistant coach, Felix Ochieng who took up the team unveiling duty from Friday told Capital Sport.
Kayange was nominated for the IRB Sevens Player of the Year in 2009 when he led Kenya to the semis of the World Cup where they eventually lost to Argentina 12-0.
“Bringing Humphrey back is a big boost to this team and we are looking forward to play with him and we are proud to have him back,” Amonde added.
The skipper declared he was ready to lead his side in their bid to eclipse the class of 2009 and make it to the decider.
“It’s a big challenge from where the other team left it, to take it farther that is being in the final or winning the final. The team named is capable of going out there and winning the Cup for Kenya I’m happy to announce,” Amonde assured.
“I’m going to get all I need from them, I will be there for them and they will be there for me and being a captain for the World Cup is a big call and I’m looking forward to lead them.”
“We are going out for a win, whether we get it or go down, our fans have been with us but we are going for nothing less,” the captain added.
Top try scorer and younger brother to Kayange, Collins Injera, William Ambaka, Lavin Asego, Philip Wamae, Horace Otieno, Biko Adema and Oscar Ouma are among the experienced hands in the squad.
“Getting the blend right of the players who performed well in the (IRB) series and those who maintained the standard is important since we needed players who would put their bodies on the line for this team,” coach Ochieng noted.
Having lost their surprise element, the tactician underscored the need to have the side to live up to their billing.
“There is always pressure when it comes to the World Cup since the level of competition has improved and every team fancies themselves.
“Teams have become more competitive just as we have and our aim is to qualify for the quarter finals and take it a game at a time from there,” he added.
“We are no longer the underdogs; that is the mindset we have tried to get the players into. We have to perform
consistently in every game, in every minute.
“That is something we need to absorb and step up to the challenge if we have to get our hands on that trophy,” Ochieng explained in regards of Kenya going in as probable successors to champions Wales.
The final squad of 12 will be named after the London training camp with Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) through facilitators electing to send the team to seclusion to sharpen their focus.
“We have many well wishers in the UK who have facilitated this trip in addition to what we have from our sponsors so that prepare for this event in a focused environment since we do not want to spare anything to ensure we win,” KRU boss, Mwangi Muthee emphasised.
Considering the injury that their star winger Ombachi got during trainning and the small dramas in the union,Kenya awaits the results of the World Cup In the Moscow.

LOVE FOR THE HARD METAL MACHINE AND THE LADIES.

Fast & Furious 6 (alternatively known as Fast Six or Furious Six) is a 2013 action film written by Chris Morgan and directed by Justin Lin. It is the sixth installment in the Fast and the Furious film series. This mindless display of machismo, testosterone and sleek cars. The film stars Vin DieselPaul WalkerDwayne Johnson,Jordana BrewsterTyrese GibsonMichelle RodriguezSung KangChris BridgesLuke EvansGina Carano, and John Ortiz

Fast & Furious 6 follows a professional criminal gang led by Dominic Toretto (Diesel) who have retired following their successful heist in Fast Five (2011), but remain wanted fugitives. U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS)agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) offers to clear the group's criminal records and allow them to return home in exchange for helping him to take down a skilled mercenary organization led by Owen Shaw (Evans) and his second in command, Dominic's presumed-dead lover Letty Ortiz (Rodriguez).

Fast & Furious 6 was in development by February 2010 as the first film in the series to move away from the underground car-racing theme of the series' previous films which was considered to have placed a barrier on audience numbers. Pre-production had begun by April 2011, and principal photography began in London and the streets wer closed and the stunts wer almost real to the core.
England in July 2012. Filming locations also included the Canary Islands, Glasgow, and Los Angeles. The film was first released in the United Kingdom, on May 17, 2013, followed by an international release on May 24, 2013. A sequel is scheduled to begin filming in August 2013.
What keeps the ladies glued to the screen is one man Vin Diesel especially when he says "Take it or Leave it"then smile when making a statement Permanent.A line stuck on some women heads...for being a big bang leader this guy shows a romantic and sensitive part. The producer made the ladies run fast to the movies for this and men have the good field of the babes and hard metal machinery.Hmm with this kind of looks even I went out of my own chair,to top it off killer voice hmm who wouldnt want such a guy.

Vin Diesel Says ‘Fast Five’ is Part of a New ‘Furious’ Trilogy

Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto is one of two characters in Fast Five who has made an appearance in four of the (now) five Fast and Furious franchise films. In the fifth installment, Dom will lead an even bigger team and face tougher foes.

Diesel’s stake in the Fast and Furious franchise is unrivaled. He jumped on as a Fast & Furious producer and has explored the possibilities of doing a sixth movie.
Diesel’s career has been defined by more than just the action-racing franchise. The actor has established relatively iconic genre movie roles as Xander Cage (xXx) and Riddick (Chronicles of Riddick). But ever since regaining control of the franchise with Fast & Furious, Diesel has put himself back in the driver’s seat.

After a long day of fighting Dwayne Johnson (as Luke Hobbs),
Vin Diesel sat down for 30 minutes with myself and other journalists on the set of Fast Five in Atlanta, GA. Needless to say, he was bloodied and sweaty from a day of combat. During other interviews, the two heavy-hitters could be heard grunting, yelling, screaming and crashing into tables in the background. The fight sure sounded epic – but time will tell how they translate to film.
-
Vin Diesel: [Dwayne Johnson and I have] been filming this pretty intense scene. We’ve been filming this fight sequence that has been going on for what feels like a week. It’s been pretty intense.

Worlds Environment day 5th Wenesday 2013!!

World Environment Day ('WED') is celebrated every year on 5 June to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action. It is run by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
It was the day that United Nations on Human Environment began. The United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was from 5–16 June 1972. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. The first World Environment Day was in 1973. World Environment Day is hosted every year by a different city with a different theme and is commemorated with an international exposition in the week of 5 June. World Environment Day is in spring in the northern hemisphere and fall in the Southern hemisphere.

"Stockholm was without a doubt the landmark event in the growth of international environmentalism", writes John McCormick in the book Reclaiming Paradise. "It was the first occasion on which the political, social and economic problems of the global environment were discussed at an intergovernmental forum with a view to actually taking corrective action."
World Environment Day is similar to Earth day.

The campaign addresses the huge annual wastage and losses in food, which, if conserved, would release a large quantity of food as well as reduce the overall carbon footprint. The campaign aims to bring about awareness in countries with lifestyles resulting in food wastage. It also aims to empower people to make informed choices about the food they eat so as to reduce the overall ecological impact due to the worldwide production o World Environment Day (WED) is observed on June 5 every year to promote awareness on the importance of preserving our biodiversity, the need to identify problems related to the environment and ways to take corrective action. It was on this day in the year 1972 that the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was formed. First celebrated in 1973, World Environment Day, also popularly known as Environment Day, is a means to tackle environmental challenges that include climate change, global warming, disasters and conflicts, harmful substances, environmental governance, ecosystem management and resource efficiency.
World Environment Day has received tremendous support from the public, non-profit organizations and governments around the world. Various awareness campaigns - beach clean-ups, concerts, exhibits, film festivals, community events and much more - are organized to spread the message, which is to improve the quality of life of all living beings on this planet without harming nature. All the activities of World Environment Day are carried out to spread eco-awareness and increase green footprint.
Each year, World Environment Day is hosted in a different city with a different theme for one week that kicks off on June 5. A World Environment Day theme is selected along with an Environment Day slogan, which aims to emphasize the importance of protecting our planet and promote an understanding that they each individually can play a significant and effective role in tackling environmental issues.

India was selected as the host of World Environment Day 2011 by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The Environment Day 2011 slogan was 'Forest: Nature at your service'. Forests cover 1/3 of the earth's land mass and play a key role in our battle against climate change, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere while storing carbon dioxide – this is what the theme aims to reinforce. The theme for World Environment Day 2012 was Green Economy: Does it include you? The first part of the theme focuses to deal with the subject of the Green Economy becuase for many the concept is yet a little too complex to understand. Whereas, the second part tries to define the essence of Green Economy in our lives and environment.

With blogs becoming an effective means of communication, on World Environment Day, the UNEP has started organizing blogging competitions to encourage people to protect the environment. Thousands of entries were received this year from different parts of the world. After reviewing all entries, budding engineer, Ximena Prugue of Florida, USA, was declared the winner for her blog on the effects of deforestation in rural India.
The UNEP also confers international awards -
The ‘Champions of the Earth’, ‘UNEP Sasakawa Prize’, ‘The Seeds Awards’, among others - to individuals or organizations on World Environment Day based on their innovation, vision and performance in protecting or benefiting the environment.Back at home NECOFA KENYA,has been the group  in many that has taken part in the Environment Eco-system today!!
