FIGHT FOR THE TITLE AS NDOVU LIFT THE GLORY





Top Fry Ndovu lifted the 2013 Bamburi Rugby Super Series title with a 24-18 win over Uganda’s Rwenzori in the final played at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday 1 June 2013.

Ndovu were the first to settle following a tentative start, Ndovu would go further ahead when Martin Muita stroked home a penalty six minutes into the second half and when he added a second penalty , the scores read 21-3. Aredo struck his second penalty for Rwenzori on fifty minutes, cutting the scores to 21-6. When Muita kicked over his third penalty, it seemed like Ndovu were coasting, 24-6 with seventeen minutes left on the ticker.

The former Ugandan international went over on seventy two minutes, his unconverted try bringing the scores to 24-11. More Rwenzori pressure saw wing Dennis Etuket go over, Aredo’s conversion making it 24-18, too little too late as the buzzer sounded, handing Ndovu the title


A 44-21 win saw over Bollore Nyumbu saw UAP Papa finish third overall.

 Edwin Salamba, making a rare start for Papa opened scoring after seven minutes of play, touching down with Darwin Mukidza converting for a 7-0 lead. Augustine Lugonzo made it 12-0 five minutes later with Mukidza converting for a 14-0 score before Gaucho Mose responded for Nyumbu, his try on nineteen minutes converted by Harun Lubisia, 14-7 the score at this point in time. Francis Akatu’s try at the stroke of half time saw Papa lead 19-7 going into the breather.







Nyumbu were quick off the blocks upon resumption, Mose landing his brace barely two minutes into the second half with Lubisia converting to bring the scores to 19-14. Papa eighth man Josh Chisanga responded immediately, his unconverted try making it 24-14. Oscar Ayodi touched down twenty minutes later with 



 Fabian Olando converting for a 31-14 Papa lead. Olando would ground the ball on sixty seven minutes, extending Papa’s lead to 36-14 before drilling home a penalty to make it 39-14. A converted try for Nyumbu and Salaton Muturi’s try saw this match end 44-21 to Papa whose fly half Augustine Lugonzo was voted man of the match.
Ndovu’s Martin Mutia was voted Man of the Series with Papa’s Fabian Olando edging Muita to the top points scorer award with 66 points. The Ndovu duo of Lawi Buyachi and Dalmus Chituyi shared the top try scorer’s award, both landing four tries.
